Salmon Arm - View Point RV

Sept 15, 2008

Up early this morning, since we had no water in the coach it was a long hike to the only shower house open. I guess with the cold weather and the few campers it is only logical to keep one shower house open and it definately wasn't close to us. When we choose our spot we thought we were just a short distance from a shower house only to discover that one was closed for the season. I wasn't too sure about how hot the water would be, Bob didn't have a problem but once I got in the shower the heat went away and I had a nice nippy shower. It was very quick!!!

We left the site in Scotch Creek around 10:30 after a nice hike down to the lake and a chat with a few of our neighbours. The drive back out to the #1 didn't seem to take as long as coming in and we were at our site west of Salmon Arm about 11:30. It is a lovely green site and if it weren't for the front end loader taking down the old bathhouse and the chickens and roosters in the back of us plus the highway in front of us it would be a very lovely place to stay!!! The host is a very friendly fellow who has made a number of upgrades to the site since they bought it. The wrecker is taking down the old building, a new, modern bathhouse will take be built there in time for next year's season.

We are looking forward to having cable TV this evening for a change, which means no campfire. We are going to have a good number of fires after Armstrong as we keep collecting wood and now have a camper full. Bob has most certainly enjoyed this vacation for as you all know he loves his campfire and we have had a goodly number.

Off to Armstrong tomorrow after a stop at the Safeway fro groceries in Salmon Arm. We are looking forward to our couple of games of golf at the Royal York in Armstrong. Every other time we have stayed at the Royal York it has rained, looking at the forcast we may have the same thing by Thursday!!! I hope we aren't the jink.
