Cotton Wood RV - Bridge Lake

Sept 12th and 13th

We moved a whole 19 kms down the road to Bridge Lake but not before an adventure with the motorhome. On leaving the camp at Sheridan Lake instead of turning left to go back to the store we turned right thinking once we got to the highway we could head west a the short distance. Once at the highway Bob realized that we couldn't make the 330 degree turn back so we headed down the highway to find a turn spot. Here is where our adventure started as we turned into a logging road thinking there was a spot to pull the RV into, back up and head back west. NOT - there was a big hole on the side of the turn out so the turn was too sharp and the cattle guard we had just crossed meant we could not back up as easily as we had hoped!!!! OOPPS - now the movie RV comes into play as it took us a few nerve racking minutes to get that hugh monster turned without falling in the hole or running over the side (another hole) of the cattle guard. All ended well and back to the store for groceries for another few days.

The Cottonwood RV resort was another fishing resort with most everyone there avid fisher people. The couple beside us, after spending the morning fishing, returned with a nice coho which they gave to us. What a wonderful dinner we had. They were a very friendly couple who had spent since May there and were heading for home on Monday. We did take our bikes out for a ride around the area; we found that all the roads were away from the lake so we didn't get any fabulous views.

The few other tourist who arrived at the campsite after us were German tourists which isn't a surprise as most people who travel in the rentals in the fall are tourists from Europe. It is very intersting meeting them, most times there is a language barrier which with a little time is overcome. I had to help one of the ladies turn the shower on as she couldn't read the english instructions.

Our first day at Bridge Lake was cold and miserable but that was the only glitch in the weather we have had to date. Both mornings we woke to frost all around, the second night I had to close the bedroom bwindow and turned the heat on so that it would come on once the temp reached 8 C.

I did get a lot more work done on my cross stitching, I am hoping that the project I started in the spring might be finished by the time we get home from this vacation.
