Loon Bay Resort @ Sherdian Lake

Pictures
Dawn and dusk pictures from our site. It would have been wonderful to have been there a few more days as the harvest moon would have been in the sky. I was only able to get one good picture of the ducks frolicking right beside our site.
Sept. 9th and we are on the move again. We are heading north along highway 97 toward 100 Mile House, turning east at mile 93 onto Highway 24. Twenty miles in we arrived at the Interlake store where we stocked up for the next three days. They have a fabulous bakery where we bought buns and bread and even splurged on cinnamon buns!! Bob couldn’t resist a nice juicy steak for dinner BBQ. If we had known the campsite was going to be within walking distance of the store our supply list wouldn’t have been so long. As it turned out the campsite was less then ½ mile down the road on the right.

Loon Bay resort is really quite lovely, we took a site on the water where we could sit and enjoy the scenery, the sun and the clouds. Unfortunately we are too deep in the trees to get internet reception so will have to go down to the office to connect.

Our afternoon was spent watching frolicking ducks! I have never seen ducks have so much fun, they would rise up on their back flap their wings while they ran on top of the water for about 3 feet, drop down to rise up, run again continuing to splash water everywhere. It would have been fun even if it had only been one duck but at least 6 to 10 at a time were splashing and playing at once. If we hadn’t have seen them anyone listening would have thought it was a bunch of children having fun splashing in the water!!!

Our evening campfire at water’s edge displayed a beautiful vista as the sun set and the moon started to rise. I would love to be here to see a full moon rise over the water. The evening cooled quickly, once we were too chilly to sit outside we moved to the warmth of the motorhome.

The night was cold, waking the morning of the 10th the temperature inside the RV was 47 F., you can tell we don’t have the heat on over night! Not sure what the day will hold will have to wait and see, maybe a bike ride or even a boat ride if they rent boats. All will depend on the temperature as the day progresses.
