Monday - Ottawa to Quebec City

Leaving town on the Monday of a long weekend is real easy. The traffic was sparse, there were no problems anywhere. We found it quite erie as to how quite the highway was. Not much to see when you are on a freeway, our only stop was at a Tim Horton's for lunch and fortunately the young gal spoke English, she appeared to be quite shocked that we asked if she spoke English.
We arrived in Quebec City about 2:30 so we had lots of time to take in some the the long weekend celebrations. Across from the parliament building there was a concert of Quebec music which was lovely. We could hear them from our hotel room but it was more fun when we got out into the crowd. We walked along the Old City walls for a bit and then went down into the old city. All of the old building (see picture) seem to be hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops or apartment buildings again it was very busy. The sun had been out most of the morning and was peaking in and out from behind the clouds while we walked around the old town. I wish we could have a little more time to take in more or the old city but I do believe our time will run short.
Dinner was at the hotel as we were both a little weary but it was pretty good for hotel fare.
