Arizona Sunshine????

Our first few days in Arizona were nice and warm just as we had expected, then the cold front came in.
We did enjoy sitting by the pool and on our deck the first few days. The temperature was wonderful, we didn't do too much those days as it appeared by the forcasts we would not have many of them. On the Saturday we did go to the Botancial Gardens, the temperature was perfect and we very much enjoyed the morning. They had a cafe there so we had lunch and headed back to the hotel.
Originallly we had planned on driving north up into the red rock valley and into the mountains maybe even making it to the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately that cold front brought snow to the mountains with the Canyon receiving 7 inches one day and 12 the next. The roads were closed going north as according to the news this was one of the worst storms they had ever had. Thus we stayed in town.
On the Sunday it poured rain, with the parking lots filling with about 3-4 inches of water, there does not seem to be any drainage here. We made it to the deli section of the grocery store bought a light lunch and something for dinner to take back to our room. We knew that if it continued to rain we would not make it to a restaurant for meals without first getting drenched!!!
The temperature warmer into the 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday so it was time to have some more pool time. As long as we were out of the breeze it was quite pleasant. Neither of us made it into the pool but we had a small jucuzzi on our back deck so most days we spent a little time in there.
On Thursday we decided to move out close to the airport so there would not be a hassle in the morning heading to the airport. We dropped off our suitcases at the hotel, took the car back and then caught the shuttle back to the hotel. After finally getting some free internet not the $14.95 a day internet I talked to Tracy and sent a note to Mark plus caught up on our email. Bob enjoyed the pool here while I did the internet.
All in all it was nice to get away to warmer weather then we would have found at home. Maybe next time we can do the different trips we had hoped to do this time.
